June meeting -Cindy"s Rainbow Bridge

Cindy is planning a Rainbow bridge project and brought some of her furry friends she plansto incorporate into the scene.

July meeting - Balloons, Sock Stretchers, Alice hat and Fish!

Unfortunately Carolyn and Robin had guests, and as we didn't hear from Isabel or Kay, it left us 3 amigos, Sally, Cindy and Linda.

Cindy brought in some miniatures from Bev, who is downsizing. Some unique items, and we all grabbed some. One item is a Greenleaf trailer kit. We will offer this to the members who did not attend.

There are several projects in film canisters.
This is a lovely little plate, and can hold food, or become a clock, with a Printie added.

It took a while to identify what this pair were meant to be, until the memory of knitted socks surfaced. Socks had to be fitted onto these sock stretchers so they wouldn't shrink!  Henry Ten Den, M.E.O.  was on the canister label.
The original shape was like this, then the socks were penciled in and painted. A unique mini!

Then we made some balloons, stretching Rl balloons over foam balls.
Based on this tut from FB. Unfortunately do not have the attribution for this. will add a lin if someone can identify the creator.

Not a very easy project! But Uncle Joe is ready for the kids!

Sally attended an Alice in Wonderland  luncheon, and here is a pic of her hat, featuring playing card painters changing the white roses to red.

Linda had some fish from the $ store and painted them. Originally white with a bit of blue drybrushing, (see the label)

Lounging with a Sugar Fix

Cindy bought a Millie August lounge chair kit, and we decided to make it up, each making a pattern to replicate the kit.
Instead of wood, we used foamcore.  Since we are not planning to reproduce for commercial purposes, we should be OK with copyright

We learned how to make piping, and how to glue around curves. It took a good few weeks before we completed the exercise. Both agreed we would never have persevered if going it alone, and we would not want to repeat the process anytime soon!

Cindy completed 2, can you imagine? She struggled with the synthetic animal print, and produced a miracle! What do you think? Sophisticated or what?

She has made curtains and selected wallpaper to co-ordinate with her pink stripe.

To continue the theme of sugary sweet, we made cotton candy for a refreshment stand. Turned out pretty good. 

The technique is quite simple. Take a real cheap piece of pink or blue felt, scrape with a razor blade and form the floss around a toothpick cut to size. You can also use a wire brush.

May Meeting 2016 - Bird Cage and Under Plastic

Can you believe it has been this long!

We were 4 at the library cafe, Sally, Robin and Carolyn could not make it. We missed ya, people!

Cindy shared her find from the $store in the STATES -  light and battery kit which will come in very handy.She is working on a Rainbow Bridge, and has made some furred animals  which she will share next meeting.

Isobel donated a completed house to charity, and will try to get some pictures to share with us for next meeting. She is planning to assemble another one, and will look at the Greenleaf page in the Minitreasures wiki  to decide which one she wants.

Robin kindly made a replacement wheel for the Cinderella carriage Linda found at a garage sale and here is the finished project "Escape to Gretna Green", which fits inside a fresh vegetable storage container.
